Peering through the windows of this ruin, I get a glimpse into another life.
Laughter and voices from long ago, are carried on the wind blowing through its empty walls.
Twigs on the ground crackle beneath silent footsteps.
Forgotten people. Forgotten lives.
All come alive, when I peek in through the windows of history.

For those of you who have been asking, here's a little more information on the locale:
Chaco Canyon is located in New Mexico. The ruins you see in the photo are believed to have been constructed by the Chacoan people, as they are called, in the mid-800s. Chacoan architecture particularly stands out because the construction of buildings was often oriented to solar, lunar and other astronomical directions. The ruin featured here is the Pueblo Bonito, one of the larger houses in the area (it has over 600 rooms!). It is considered one of the most extensively excavated sites in North America, and is even today considered to be sacred and of spiritual significance to many American Indian groups.

Sometimes ruins can also be so beautiful. :-)
Which place is this ?

Lovely pics ...:)
hey do you mind sharing some more information about this window of history ?
Thank you both for liking the pics. I really love visiting ruins...they have so much history contained in them. The reason I didnt go into too much detail regarding the place is because at some point I do want to write more about these places in my travel blog (which I've been super lazy about working on)..but still I should have been more specific about the locale. I've updated the post to give some more details. Thanks for pointing that out to me...sometimes I put up the photo and forget that I left the most important details out. ;)
Thank you for this information. Looks very interesting. Looking forward to your travel blog. I won't remind you again. :-)
Is that one of the reasons why you want to shift to this place ?
