Spring is here!

Tiny buds open up slowly,
As the first butterfly of the season floats out of its cocoon
The skies resonate with the sounds of vagrant birds returning home
The fragrance of cherry blossoms sits lightly in the air
The harsh spell of a long, cold winter is suddenly broken
By the warm beams of sunshine that swallow up the blue sky
Slowly, the world awakens out of its deep slumber
Afresh. Anew.

Beautiful pictures, and your words capture the essence of spring well. Spring is almost over here. I wish I could travel with it as it spreads across the country!

Nice !!! Coincidence though, i just posted orchids on my page. :)

Next time, try some -ve exposure compensation when shooting white flowers. You'll capture more detail in the petals and blossoms.

I like the last one the best because i tried doing something like that and i royally screwed my attempt. Overexposure. Sigh.

Spring is definitely there. We only have 2 seasons here in Zambia, wet and dry, so that happiness when winter ends is kinda lost here... but there are lots of other advantages to a temperate climate.

Great happy photos. Re Trevor's comment - if you shoot in raw you can always adjust the brightness to bring out more details (or curves).

Glad to see you back here again. LOL. Dont you dare complain about the climate there! I lived in Kenya for most of my life and in as much as I like the changes in the seasons here, I sooo miss the tropical weather back in Africa. :)

Thanks! :)

LOL. I couldnt rhyme to save my hardly a poet.

Been busy and lazy. I've been traveling around the US every moment that I wasn't working and have been working overtime every moment I wasn't traveling. And then was just too lazy to put up a post when I was doing neither. I've missed reading your blog though...will drop by soon. :)
